Renewal
1) What is NNC nursing license renewal?
NNC renewal is the process of updating your nursing license status with the Nepal Nursing Council so your registration remains valid for professional practice.
COGS
2) What is a Certificate of Good Standing (COGS)?
COGS is an official confirmation of your professional standing from the council, commonly required for overseas registration, migration, credentialing, and verification.
COGS
3) Are COGS and verification the same process?
In most cases, they follow the same documentation and processing workflow. The target authority may call it COGS, verification, or standing confirmation.
Renewal
4) Which documents are commonly required for license renewal?
Usually: license photo, payment slip, and additional identity or academic documents if required by your case. PAN card and tax clearance are typically requested for nurses working in Nepal.
COGS
5) Which documents are commonly required for COGS?
Typical COGS package includes transcript, character certificate, passport-size ID photo, license photo, and payment slip. Some councils or agencies may request a university or authority form.
COGS
6) Can I apply only for COGS without renewal?
Yes. COGS can be processed as a standalone service when your target regulator or employer requests only good standing or verification, but your nursing license should not be expired.
Express
7) What is Renewal + COGS Express?
Express combines both services in one coordinated workflow with a unified checklist and priority handling for applicants with urgent timelines.
General
8) How long does the process usually take?
Timelines vary by document readiness and council response. Many cases complete in a few business days after all required documents are correct and submitted.
General
9) How will I receive updates about my application?
Updates are typically shared via WhatsApp and email, especially when additional clarification or missing documents are needed.
General
10) Can I submit documents from outside Nepal?
Yes. Most applicants can upload required files online and complete communication remotely, then follow any authority-specific final instructions.
COGS
11) What if my target authority asks for a special form (Nurse Form 3F, CNO, CGFNS, TruMerit, etc.)?
You can upload that form in the COGS or Express submission so it is included during document review and final processing.
Verification
12) What is TruMerit nursing credentials verification?
TruMerit (sometimes misspelled “Trumerit”) is a credential verification workflow used by some employers, health systems, and agencies when they need an independent check of a nurse's registration and good standing. For Nepal Nursing Council (NNC) registrants, that proof is usually supplied as an official Certificate of Good Standing (COGS) or NNC verification letter. Heedoc helps you compile the council-side package and coordinates submission against NNC rules; the issued letter comes from the council, not from TruMerit. When the NNC prepares a sealed envelope for your overseas authority, we can also help with international courier to the address stated on your application.
Verification
13) What is Nurse Form 3F (Verification of Foreign Professional Licensure/Certification)?
“Nurse Form 3F” is the form commonly titled Verification of Foreign Professional Licensure/Certification. Foreign boards of nursing and similar regulators use it to obtain official confirmation from your home-country licensing authority—for Nepal, the Nepal Nursing Council (NNC)—that your registration and professional standing are genuine. The PDF is issued by the requesting board or agency, not by the NNC. Download it from them, then upload the blank or partially completed 3F with your Heedoc COGS / Express verification request so our team can align supporting documents and council wording with every item the form asks the NNC to certify. The NNC will typically send the completed verification in a sealed envelope to the address shown on your form; we can also help courier that sealed package internationally when you need tracked delivery.
Verification
14) How do Nepal NNC COGS and verification letters support TruMerit or Nurse Form 3F requirements?
Most TruMerit workflows and Nurse Form 3F packets ask for a recent, authoritative confirmation of your NNC registration and good standing. A properly addressed COGS or NNC verification letter typically satisfies that part of the checklist. Compare your destination instructions (TruMerit portal, state board 3F cover sheet, CGFNS, employer upload, etc.) against the letter you receive—if they need a specific addressee, seal wording, or extra fields on the 3F, mention that in your submission remarks so the Nepal-side package matches.
Verification
15) Does Heedoc submit documents directly to TruMerit or file my Nurse Form 3F with the foreign board for me?
Heedoc focuses on the Nepal Nursing Council side: checklist review, document preparation, payment coordination where applicable, and follow-up until the council response is issued. The NNC often provides verification in a sealed envelope to the address on your form; we can arrange international courier for that shipment if you need it delivered abroad with tracking. Separately, you (or your representative) normally return the completed 3F or upload supporting files to TruMerit, the state board, or the employer portal according to their instructions.
Verification
16) Which documents should I prepare for NNC verification when TruMerit or Nurse Form 3F is involved?
Core COGS-style bundles often include academic transcript, character certificate, passport-style ID photo, license photo, and fee payment proof. TruMerit or the board's Verification of Foreign Professional Licensure/Certification (3F) instructions may require additional items (translations, ID proofs, employer attestations). Upload the full foreign checklist and the 3F PDF with your Heedoc application so nothing your board or verifier asks for is missed.
CPD
17) What is CPD (Continuing Professional Development) for NNC license renewal?
CPD is a structured way for nurses and midwives to keep their knowledge and skills up to date through training, workshops, seminars, conferences, and research. The Nepal Nursing Council has introduced a CPD-based renewal system (effective from Magh 1, 2082 BS / mid-December 2025), so license renewal now requires demonstrated learning, not just a renewal fee. Recognised topics commonly include communication skills, basic life support, infection prevention and control, medical ethics, and updates on new clinical knowledge and technology. For the official notice and the latest rules, please refer to the Nepal Nursing Council website at nnc.org.np.
CPD
18) How many CPD hours or credit points are required for NNC renewal?
Under the new NNC CPD system, nurses and midwives are expected to complete a minimum of 60 hours of CPD within a six-year renewal cycle, with at least 10 credit points each year. Credit points can be earned from CPD activities run by approved educational institutions, health institutions, the National Health Training Center, or recognised national and international workshops, seminars and conferences. Exact credit values, approved providers, and submission rules are set by the council, so always confirm the current circular on nnc.org.np before planning your renewal.
Renewal
19) How do I check whether my NNC nursing license is valid or expired?
An NNC nursing license is generally valid for 6 years from your last registration or renewal date, with the practical expiry being one day before that anniversary (for example, a 12 March 2020 registration expires 11 March 2026). To verify your registration details directly with the council, you can log into the official NNC online portal at application.nnc.org.np or reach the council via the contact details on nnc.org.np. You can also use our renewal-date calculator on the Nursing License Renewal service page to see expiry, the 95-day window, and the 1-year re-registration cutoff for your specific date.
Renewal
20) What is the difference between renewal and re-registration with the Nepal Nursing Council?
Renewal applies when you reactivate your license within 95 days of its expiry; the documents and council fee are kept light, and the turnaround is short. Re-registration is the recovery pathway when the license has already been expired for more than 95 days — the council asks for additional supporting documents (such as citizenship and academic character certificate), the fee is higher, and processing can take significantly longer (commonly around three months). Our calculator detects which of these applies to your case and only asks for documents your tier requires.
Renewal
21) How are NNC council fees structured for renewal and re-registration?
Council fees are set and revised by the Nepal Nursing Council itself, so the figures you should rely on are the ones published on the official site. As a general structure, there is a base renewal fee charged when you renew within 95 days of expiry, a higher re-registration charge when applying between 95 days and 1 year past expiry, and another higher tier when more than 1 year has passed. Always confirm the current amount on the NNC renew / re-registration page before depositing. The Heedoc service fees you see on our site are separate from the council fee and cover our document handling, bank deposit, courier, and follow-up support.
COGS
22) Is an NNC verification letter the same as a Certificate of Good Standing?
Practically yes — an NNC verification letter and a Certificate of Good Standing follow the same documentation workflow at the council. The difference is mostly in the wording and the addressee: receiving authorities (overseas regulators, employers, migration agencies, universities) sometimes ask for a "verification letter", "good standing", or "registration confirmation". When you apply through our COGS service, you can specify the exact wording and the destination address on your form or remarks so the issued package matches what your authority expects. The council often places the response in a sealed envelope for that address; Heedoc can arrange international courier for that sealed shipment when you need it delivered abroad with tracking.
COGS
23) How does the Nepal Nursing Council deliver COGS or verification, and can Heedoc help with courier?
For many applications, the Nepal Nursing Council prepares COGS or verification documentation in a sealed envelope, addressed to the recipient named on your submission (for example the board address on Nurse Form 3F or the institution in your application remarks). That keeps the package tamper-evident for foreign regulators. If you need that envelope sent overseas rather than handled yourself, Heedoc can arrange international courier via DHL, FedEx, UPS, or Aramex subject to carrier availability—see our International Courier add-on or ask the team when your council response is ready.
Registration
24) What documents are typically needed for fresh NNC registration after the licensing exam?
For first-time registration after passing the NNC licensing exam, applicants are commonly asked for an academic transcript, a recent passport-size photo, citizenship certificate (or passport for foreign nationals), proof of registration fee payment (bank voucher / deposit slip), a scanned signature, and any earlier council registration certificate where applicable. Candidates whose +2 was completed under a foreign board may also need an equivalence certificate. Heedoc currently focuses on renewal, COGS, and the Express bundle — for fresh-registration cases, please refer to the latest official registration instructions on the NNC portal or contact us if you would like guidance.
CPD
25) What is WCEA and is it required for NNC CPD?
WCEA (World Continuing Education Alliance) is a digital learning platform used by several nursing regulators to deliver CPD content and track credit points. Whether a WCEA course will count toward your NNC CPD depends on the council's current circular and its approved-provider list, which can change over time. Treat any third-party "WCEA = NNC CPD" claim cautiously and confirm directly with the council. The official, up-to-date guidance on which providers and activities are recognised for NNC CPD is published on nnc.org.np.
